VERESS Géza (Hajdúböszőrmény, Hungary, 1899 - Debrecen, Hungary, 1970)
Art education: Academy of Fine Arts, Budapest, with teachers CSÖK István and GLATS Oszkár
He organized exhibitions at the National Gallery (1951, 1953) and at the Ernst Museum (1954, 1957) as well as at the Miskolc Museum (1967).
He was awarded the Munkácsy Prize in 1953.
The works from the patrimony of the ART Depot, ”Damascus Gate, Jerusalem”, 1925, and ”Landscape at the Edge of the Oasis”, 1925, respectively, are made by the artist in the context of the journey undertaken in the Middle East, between 1925 and 1929.
