VREMIR, Mircea (1932, Siliștea, Neamț - 1991, Cluj-Napoca)
Artistic education: Iasi Institute of Fine Arts (1949-1950), "Ion Andreescu" Institute of Fine Arts Cluj (1950-1955).
Between 1957 and 1991 he organized seventeen personal exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca, Dej, Bucharest, Tulcea, Miercurea Ciuc. He has exhibited abroad in Moscow, Russia (1957) and Osaka, Japan (1973). Four retrospective national exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca (1999-2017) were also dedicated to him.
”The artist belongs to a prestigious generation of Cluj artists, who, practicing (without the support of an explicit theoretical program), a postmodernism by instinct, oriented sui generis subversive) to restore the connection, brutally interrupted by the official, with the great Romanian interwar painting and with experience, truly revolutionary, of the Romanian historical avant-garde, gave the Cluj art a specific configuration, integrating it significantly in the ensemble of the Romanian contemporary art ”.
