BALLA József (1910, Arad - 1991, Baia Mare)
Artistic education: Baia Mare School, where he is noticed by PATAKY Sándor; Budapest Institute of Fine Arts (1943-1944), where he studied with master István SZŐNYI.
He settled in Baia Mare, but received only for a short time the stylistic influences of the Painting Colony. Later, he turns to an expressive social pictorial theme, sometimes experiencing the expressive possibilities of the grotesque.
