BALLA József (1910, Arad - 1991, Baia Mare)
Artistic education: Baia Mare School, where he is noted by PATAKY Sándor; Institute of Fine Arts in Budapest (1943-1944), where he studied with master SZŐNYI István.
He settles in Baia Mare but receives only for a short period the stylistic influences of the Painting Colony. Later, he turns towards an expressively social pictorial theme, sometimes experimenting with the expressive possibilities of the grotesque.
