Petru HÂRTOPEANU (1913, Hulub, Botoșani – 2001, Frankfurt am Main, Germany)
Artistic education:
Academy of Fine Arts Iași (1932-1937), with master Nicolae TONITZA.
Between 1933 and 1986, he held fifteen national (Iași, Bucharest) and international (Sofia – Bulgaria, Wiesbaden, Goddelau, Hessa– Germany) personal exhibitions. In 2003, the National Museum of Art Iași dedicated a large retrospective exhibition to him.
Between 1937 and 1952, he participated annually in the Official Painting Salons of Bucharest. He was awarded the Official Salon of Moldova (1942) and the Order of Cultural Merit (1967).
He settled in Germany, Hesse, Frankfurt am Main, in 1974.
