FUX, Paul / FUCHS, Pal (1922, Salonta, Bihor - 2011, Ierusalim, Israel)
Artistic education: Higher School of Art, Budapest (1940-1943), with professors BORTNYIK Sándor, A. BERNATH, and T. GALEE. In the country, he studied with LEON (LÖWINGER) Alex (Sándor).
Between 1943 and 1945 he survived an extermination camp in Poland. Between 1945-1955 he worked as a book illustrator for various journals, later he was a decorator at the Puppet Theater, Oradea. Transferred in 1970 to Israel, he will organize three personal exhibitions: Jerusalem (1974), New York, USA (1974), Tel Aviv (1975). In 1975 he won the first prize at the exhibition "The Sea", organized in Haifa, Israel, in the same year he was awarded the Nordau Prize for Art, founded by the "World Organization of Jewish Hungarians" together with "The Israeli organization of Hungarian emigrants".
