Georges MAZILU (Vinjulet, Mehedinți, Romania, 1951)
Artistic education: Nicolae Grigorescu Fine Art Institute, Bucharest (1974). Since 1982 he has lived and created in France. He has a rich international exhibition track record, among which we mention: personal exhibitions at Marsha Child Contemporary, Princeton, NJ., USA; Gallery Samagra Paris; Thomas Masters Gallery Chicago (2005); Turner Caroll Gallery, Sant a Fe, NM, USA (2006); Thomas Masters Gallery, Chicago (2007); Turner Caroll Gallery Sant a Fe, NM, USA (2008, 2010); Art Safari Bucharest (Gallery 9 Cluj), (2014, 2015); Thomas Masters Gallery (2011); Turner Caroll Gallery Sant a Fe, NM, USA (2012); Gallerie Sakkah Toulouse (2015). Participation in numerous group exhibitions is added, among the most recent ones: Philadelphia Flower Show (2001); Los Angeles Art Fair (2002); Salon des Artistes Bas-Normande, Caen, France (2004); L`artistique de l`isle Adam, France; Art Now Fair Miami, USA (2007; 12th Biennale du Cercle Saint Leonard, Biennale du Baugé, Figures-vous l`imaginaire, Théoule-sur-Mer (2009, 2010).
After a long exhibition absence in the country, this autumn in Sibiu, the Brukenthal National Museum opens the exhibition "Un voyage" (24.10.2024 - 1.12.2024). His paintings are exhibited mainly in France, the USA, Canada, and the Netherlands and museums and private collections. His works can currently be found at the Young and Legion of Honor museums in San Francisco, USA, NM Arts in Public Places Santa Fe, USA, Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, Arizona, USA, or the Tyler Collection, University of Tasmania, New Zealand.He was awarded two international prizes: the Taylor Prize (1999) and the prize of the city of L`Isle Adam.
